Wenger back on bench for Champions League

EUFA backed down in the appeal by Arsenal to allow Arsene Wenger to be on the touchline for Wednesdays crucial Champions League Qualifier against Italians Udinese.

After triggering a suspended sentence from last season when illegally passing info to the bench int he first leg, EUFA stepped in and handed the ban out. Arsenal appealed an got their own way.

That’s one battle they won today, another, the departure of Samir Nasri to Manchester City is one they lost. Or indeed, did they? The 24 year old French International has moved for a reported £24m to an incredibly expensive squad, built to take on the best in the Premier League. They offer what looks like the only real opposition to Manchester united this season.

Nasri was due to travel to Manchester for his medical as the Gunners squad left for Italy for the game on Wednesday night.
