Horse Racing: Cheltenham Betting Odds and Tips for Saturday

Whilst the flat code of racing enjoys it’s day in the sun at Ascot with the day of champions, there is some National hunt action taking place at NH HQ, Cheltenham.  Gordon Elliot is getting the feel for the course and has employed Tony McCoy to ride his MANGER HANAGEMENT in the opening race at 2.05, the A P McCoy, the Autobiography Novices Hurdle!! Winner of his last five races, twice over fences, the last three times over hurdles, he is favourite on the exchanges to make it a six timer. I for one, will not argue with his chance. LIFE OF A LUSO has been improving all summer and comes to Cheltenham better off at the weight with Buck Mulligan. This trip is idea and the going suitable and the drop in class can only be to his advantage. He goes in the 2.40 ZEturf.comHandicap Chase I can...

Qipco Long Distance Cup at Ascot – Champions Day Betting Odds and Tips

Times Up, Opinion Poll or Fame or Glory, the opening race of Champions Day at Ascot is the Group 3 Long Distance Cup over 2m and it throws up a conundrum for punters. If the betting is to be believed there are only these three in the race, maybe four if we drag Meeznah into things. John Dunlop, Mahmood Al Zarooni for Godolphin and Aiden O’Brien look set to fight out this stayers event but perhaps Sir Mark Prescott can crash the party with Motrice. Opinon Poll heads the market at present, best priced 2.33 with Betfair, he is generally available at 2/1 with the bookies. Possible surprisingly beaten last time out in the Doncaster cup by John Oxx’s Saddlers Hall, it was his 4th unsuccessful attempt beyond 2 miles, and the penny is dropping now as he comes back to 16f. At this trip, 3 wins and a...

Sunday 27th Premier League Previews & Betting Odds – Manchester’s City and United do Battle for Top Spot

Both Manchester United and Manchester City could go top with respective wins in Sundayafternoon’s Premier League action. Chelsea are currently top from Wolverhampton Wanderers, the pair on seven points, but wins for the Manchester Clubs would put them above the pair, positioning will depend upon goals scored and conceded. United are at home and in the game of the day at 4pm play Arsenal who have just a point to boast from their two games. This will not be easy for Wengers troops, they have not won at Old Trafford since 2006, the only point they have gained since then was from a 0-0 draw, the only positive for the North Londoners in seven subsequent matches in all competitions. Man Utd should come through this unscathed. So what of City’s chances at Spurs? Not an easy one to call,Spurs have had just one Premier League game so far, losing...

Npower Championship Betting Odds – Previews and Tips

Another weekend in the Npower Championship with Southampton and Derby County leading the way Middlesbrough and West Ham United hot on their heels. The top of the table may still look a little topsy-turvy in some minds, but this weekend the Npower Championship will be some five matches in and some positions beginning to be established already. Derby County look likely to retain their 100% record and make it five wins from five against an out of sorts Burnley side, if they do, only Southampton can deny Nigel Clough’s side a place on top of the division by winning at Leicester City. If the Saints were to do just that, they will have surely arrived as Championship contenders. Brighton & Hove Albion are making hay already in this division, they too, look likely to take three points on Saturday afternoon as Peterborough come to the AMEX. Fresh from a...

UEFA Champions League Draw, Analysis, Betting Odds & Tips – Group E

Here I take a look at the Champions League Draw and give some early prediction for the two sides from each group to progress. Each group will also have its own odds box to show the best odds available for each. Group E: Chelsea, Valencia, Bayer Leverkusen, Genk This looks to be the most fascinating group this year. At first glance, ultra competitive, on second look, pretty average. Chelsea, unconvincing in the Premier League last season, Valencia better in La Liga but woefully short of whats required in this competition. Bayer Leverkusen are strong at home, whilst have been very poor in Europe on the road, Liverpool beat them 3-1 twice to see them out of the comp last year. I like Genk, i like the atmosphere at their ground for midweek evening games. Unfortunately, atmosphere doesn’t win games, and Genk, although a solid enough side who don’t get...

UEFA Champions League Draw, Analysis, Betting Odds & Tips – Group D

Here I take a look at the Champions League Draw and give some early prediction for the two sides from each group to progress. Each group will also have its own odds box to show the best odds available for each. Group D: Real Madrid, Lyon, Ajax, Dinamo Zagreb Real Madrid will once again play Lyon and Ajax in the Champions League this season, just as they did last. In fact, this will be the fourth season in the last six they have played Lyon in either the Group or knockout stages. The games have been good as well. So Real will be the obvious choice to win the group, Mourihno has started to work his magic and the Special one has given La Liga a Special feeling this season, (when it gets going!), We disrespectfully, although realistically disregard the chance of Zagreb, so we are left to decide...

UEFA Champions League Draw, Analysis, Betting Odds & Tips – Group B

Here I take a look at the Champions League Draw and give some early prediction for the two sides from each group to progress. Each group will also have its own odds box to show the best odds available for each. Group B: Inter Milan, CSKA Moscow, Lille, Trabzonspor Inter Milan are a best price 1.5 (1/2) to win this Group B and that is probably right. In fact it might even be a shade on the big side for some. i wold approach the price with some caution as Inter have periods of serious inconsistency. CSKA’s last two Champions league games came against Inter when the Italians did a typically professional job on them, winning both legs, home and away 1-0. With that in hand we can forecast they will finish in front of the Russians in the Group. Lille will be a tough cookie to break down in...

Premier League Betting Odds – Swansea v Sunderland Preview

August 24, 2011
By

Steve Bruce will be upset by the way his Sunderland side went out of the Carling Cup in midweek. Brendan Rodgers has only himself to blame for Swansea Exit, showing disregard for the competition and thinking they could match the likes of Manchester united and Arsenal and field a weakened team. They caught a cold , as did Norwich and QPR and now they can concentrate on Premier League survival for now! Or perhaps it was the plan with that last thought in mind? At the Liberty Stadium on Saturday they may have to rely on Micheal Vorm once again who has a great game last week to keep out Wigan, even saving a penalty. Up front, playing the ball around wonderfully can lead to goal but it doesn’t score them, you need a strike to get hold of the ball and shoot toward the net, unless they do...

Premier League Betting Odds – Blackburn Rovers v Everton

August 24, 2011
By

Blackburn have been tipped by many as relegation candidates this term and have done their best thus far to prove those pundits right. Steve Keane has done nothing in the transfer market for a squad that needed obvious investment if relegation would not be a threat this year. Losses to Wolves and Aston Villa so far leave them pointless and already looking vulnerable. Perhaps there may be light at the end of the tunnel as Everton step forward as next opponents on Saturday. The Toffeemen always start the season badly and punters would rarely be out of pocket backing against them through the first ten games, and this could be a breath of fresh air for Blackburn. This looks like it could be the poorest game of the weekend in the top tier, and may even be a very early relegation six pointer. Both side would be happy with...
